Gadgets for Golfers

Hi guys.  First things first, I have to come clean, I am not the best golfer in Aotearoa.  I’m not the worst, but I am quite inexperienced. That hasn’t stopped me having a poke around golf gadgets.  Recently I popped into the Golf Warehouse to pick up a new pair of shoes.  I asked Ricky, the helpful guy behind the counter, whether there were any new golf gadgets I should know about.  Ten minutes later I had enough content for next weeks gadget segment on TVNZ.

Here’s a sneak preview of the upcoming gadgets:

1. SkyCaddie SG5 – Rangefinder, GPS and all round brilliant golf gadget

“The SG5 offers a brilliant color display that is viewable indoors and in direct sunlight. Store up to 20 full-featured courses at one time with our advanced course management features like Hazards, Carries and Layups, plus our patented new IntelliGreen® Pro and Interactive HoleVue™ With Zoom. The SG5 comes with a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, which is good for up to 14 hours of continuous play. For a limited time, get a FREE Car Charger, Travel Case, and LCD Protector with each SkyCaddie SG5 purchase.”

2. The Taylor Made Supertri R9

Showing the latest evolution in golf technology the R9 is a club and a half (in a single clubs body). It incorporates Movable Weight Technology in a 460cc head with Flight Control Technology to give you the ability to launch the ball higher with more spin.

Update: it was a beautiful late Autumn day in Auckland today so I bought a bucket of balls out at the Airport driving range to give the club a crack.  Here is just one of my excellent swings.

3. Lawia KaddyMate Electric trundler

The Lawia KaddyMate Electric trundler is able to be completely controlled by remote.  The KaddyMate’s simple design allows it to be folded down or opened up in seconds, there are no parts that need removing. The KaddyMate features an advanced digital two-way communication remote control system and the trundler will automatically stop when out of the remote control range.
